quilting update

A while back I wrote about starting Tyler's quilt. And I've made some progress! It's really fun to see how it's going to turn out. Tyler's really excited for his big blanket, today he said, "Thank you so so much for sewing my big big blanket!" Sometimes words from a little one are the best motivation.

So here's what I've been working on. First I put four small squares into one big square, like this one. 

Then did that another 55 times.

Once I had 56 big squares I started making them into rows. There will be nine rows of seven squares. Hanging on the hanger are the rows of seven squares. I have six finished so only three left and then to put those together.

What is everyone else working on? Something for you, something for the kiddos? I'm glad that Tyler likes it so much, I think he'll be so excited to get it on his bed!
